BlackBerry Passport flash sale runs for 48-hours, takes 34% off the price

Save 34% with the 48-hour flash sale on the unique BlackBerry Passport

The BlackBerry Passport is the subject of a 48-hour flash sale by BlackBerry. Unlike the flash sales held overseas by companies like Xiaomi, this is merely a sale that is running for 48-hours on the handset. The phone is receiving a 34% discount and is priced at $229. That is $120 off the regular price of $349. The last time BlackBerry ran a 48-hour flash sale for the Passport, buyers purchased the Silver Edition in such great numbers that the BlackBerry web site sold out of the device completely; the Passport Silver Edition is no longer available at all from the manufacturer.

The unlocked BlackBerry Passport is a GSM model which means that this version of the phone will not work with Verizon, Sprint or U.S. Cellular. The phone comes with a 4.5-inch LCD display featuring a 1440 x 1440 resolution. The Snapdragon 801 SoC is under the hood containing a quad-core 2.2GHz CPU, and the Adreno 330 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage (which works out to 25GB of native storage for users).

A 13MP snapper with OIS is on back. For those who shoot selfies, there is a 2MP front-facing camera that also handles video chats. Keeping the lights on is a 3450mAh battery. BlackBerry 10.3 is pre-installed. The Passport sports one of the most unique BlackBerry keyboards since it works in conjunction with the display in order to type numbers and punctuation. The QWERTY keyboard also doubles as a touch-pad.

If interested in taking BlackBerry up on this deal, click the sourcelink. And remember, with only 48-hours to the sale, time is ticking. The BlackBerry Passport is a different kind of phone in many ways, and as a business device it offers some advantages including the wide screen and the QWERTY keyboard.

Google Sheets update adds support for mouse and rotated text

Google announced its Sheets app for Android and iOS devices had been updated with a couple of new features and improvements. Some of the changes are available on both platforms, while others are exclusive to one of them.

One of the most important new features is the ability to rotate text, which allows users to fit long header names into thin columns or fit more text on a single screen. The new option is available in Sheets by heading to Format / Text rotation.

Also, the latest update introduces accounting number formats, which enables Sheets users to read budgets, expense reports, as well as other spreadsheets featuring monetary amounts much easier. You can access this feature from within the app at Format / Number / Accounting.

Google also confirmed support for using a mouse with the Sheets for Android has been implemented too, as well as the ability to view and select existing custom colors in the app.

iOS users got some love too, as Google added the ability to drag and drop rows and columns in the Sheets for the iOS app. This feature is available for Android users as well. Furthermore, formatting suggestions in Explore are now available for Sheets users on iOS devices.

Last but not least, the new update allows Sheets users to choose from more border styles, including various thickness and double borders.
