Sony starts rolling out Android Nougat to Xperia Z5, Z3 Plus, and Z4 Tablet, this time for real

, Z4 Tablet, and Z5 series have started receiving an update to Android 7.0 Nougat. This is the second time such an update gets released, since the first release was plagued by multiple bugs, prompting Sony to pull it.
The initial rollout was halted just three days after it began, due to problems with audio playback, SD card performance, and battery life. While most people expected the fix to come shortly, Sony apparently ran into some problems during its development, as almost three weeks passed between then and now. Sony even had to tweet a reassuring message to users, saying that “priority is user experience”.
The update’s version number is reported to be 32.3.A.0.372, and, apart from the bugfixes, should be identical to the previous one. This, unfortunately, means that the release includes neither the January security patch, nor support for the Vulkan graphics API. The update brings users multi-window support, expanded notification functionality, and Google Now support built in the Xperia Home Launcher, along with all the rest of Nougat’s stock improvements. Owners of the aforementioned Xperia devices should be receiving the update shortly.
