Samsung Hello could be a Google Feed-like service on the Galaxy S8

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2017, and we’re inching closer and closer to the device’s incoming announcement. We’re expecting a lot from the phone, including a Snapdragon 835 processor, pressure sensitive display not unlike 3D Touch on the iPhone, water-resistance, and some sort of crazy bezel-less display. Along with all of this, another standout feature for the Galaxy S8 is expected to be Samsung’s Bixby artificial intelligence that will compete with the likes of Google Assistant, Siri, and Alexa. Another personal assistant may sound like either a pro or a con depending on your outlook on AI, but Samsung recently filed for a new trademark that could give Bixby the upper-hand over some its competition.
The trademark, dubbed Samsung Hello, was filed over in Europe’s Intellectual Property Office, and it states that Samsung Hello is a type of, “software that enables block users or computers and mobile devices to access, aggregate, organize and interact with content, information and images and topics of general interest to such users.” Furthermore, the trademark also reveals that Samsung Hello will include, “application software that gives personalized features and information based on user’s preferences in the fields of weather, music, entertainment, games, travel, science, health, contact, and social news via voice command and voice recognition.”
